Privacy Policy

1. What Neezy Does

Neezy is a local photo backup app. It copies photos and videos from your device to a USB drive connected to it. All data transfer happens locally between your device and the USB drive. No data is uploaded to any cloud server or transmitted over the internet during the backup process.

2. Data We Access

Neezy accesses the following data on your device to perform backups:

• Photos and videos in folders you select (read-only access)
• File metadata such as filenames, file sizes and modification dates
• USB drive information including storage capacity and available space

This data is used only to perform the backup. It is transferred directly to your USB drive and is never sent to our servers or any external service.

3. Data We Collect

Your photos and videos are never collected by Neezy. They remain on your device and your USB drive at all times.

For users of the Kavach paid tier, we collect the following information solely for license enforcement purposes:

• Google account email address (used for sign-in)
• A device code that identifies your active device
• Device name (as set on your Android device)

This information is stored on Google servers and is used only to enforce the single-device license policy. It is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

4. Analytics and Crash Reporting

Neezy uses Firebase Analytics (Google) for anonymous usage data such as button taps, screen views and purchase events. This data is anonymized and does not include file names, folder paths, photo contents or any personally identifiable information.

Anonymous crash reports are collected through Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to help us fix bugs. Crash reports include device type, operating system version, app version and technical details about the error. They do not include photos, file names or personal information.

5. Single Active Device Policy

The Kavach license is active on one device at a time. You may switch your active device at any time through the app. When you activate Kavach on a new device, the previous device returns to the free tier automatically.

The free tier is not affected by this policy and requires no account or license.

6. Data Storage

Backup tracking data (which files have been backed up) is stored locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to any server.

Kavach license information (email address, device code, device name) is stored on Google servers with strict security rules. Access is limited to authenticated users and our server-side license enforcement logic.

7. Third-Party Services

Neezy uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication (Google) - handles Kavach license sign-in
• Firebase Firestore (Google) - stores Kavach license and device enforcement data
• Firebase Analytics (Google) - collects anonymous usage analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google) - collects anonymous crash reports
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) - sends license displacement notifications when your Kavach license is activated on a different device
• Google Play Billing - processes in-app purchases for Kavach
• Google AdMob (Google) - shows ads to free tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. See Google's advertising privacy policy for details.

These services are governed by Google's privacy policies.

8. Children's Privacy

Neezy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at support@neezy.in and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Deletion

To delete local backup tracking data, clear the app data in your Android device settings or uninstall Neezy.

To delete your Kavach account data (email, device code, device name) from our servers, contact us at support@neezy.in. We will process your request within 30 days.

10. Data Retention

Local backup tracking data is stored on your device until you clear app data or uninstall.

Kavach license data (email, device code, device name) is retained on Google servers until you request deletion or your account is inactive for 2 years, whichever comes first.

11. Regulatory Compliance

Neezy is designed with data minimization as a core principle. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and applicable data protection regulations. Since Neezy operates as a local backup tool with minimal data collection, our compliance obligations are limited.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected in the app. Continued use of Neezy after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
